The President of the Senate meets the Minister of State in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Morocco

As part of bilateral cooperation between Rwanda and Morocco, the President of  Rwanda Senate, Right Honorable Bernard Makuza, met in his office on Tuesday, 10 July 2017, a Moroccan delegation led by the Secretary of State in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs And International Cooperation, Mrs Mounia Buccetta.

During her visit to Parliament, Mrs Buccetta stated that she had come to Rwanda to witness the progress of the bilateral agreements signed between two countries and to establish ways and means for implementation of the projects already underway. Minister Buccetta also said that her visit to Parliament was particularly an opportunity to talk about strengthening parliamentary diplomacy between two countries.

 Right Honorable Bernard Makuza, on the other hand, commended the visit of the Moroccan Minister of State, stressing that Rwanda and Morocco have a good partnership as they have signed 23 cooperation agreements, particularly in the sectors of agriculture, education, health, etc., which will strengthen such relations initiated by the Heads of State of both countries.

These agreements also cover other areas such as economy, politics, air transport, tourism and sport.

The President of the Senate noted that the fact that two countries have established bilateral relations which are expected to lead to many achievements, calls upon the Parliaments of both countries to facilitate the success of these bilateral initiatives through legislation and parliamentary diplomacy.

Morocco and Rwanda have strengthened diplomatic ties following State visits exchanged between two Heads of State.
