14-03-2012: Official opening of International Conference on Private Sector Development in Africa.

This Wednesday, March 14th, 2012, in Parliamentary Building, His Excellence Paul KAGAME, President of the Republic of Rwanda, officially open a 3-day (14-16/3/2012) International Conference under the theme : « Private Sector Development in Africa : Cornerstone for sustainable growth”. 230 participants from about 50 countries around the World are participate in this Conference.

23-12-2011: Since 2009, Lawmakers did community works (Umuganda) in 27 Districts.

The plenary session of Chamber of Deputies, on 23th December 2011, examined Political Affairs Committee’s report on community work (Umuganda), that Deputies did in different Districts of the country in order to share with the community ideas on development programs and to know their problems.

10-12-2011: MPs join other Organizations in a special community work (Umuganda) dedicated to anti-erosive works at Mont Kigali

MPs and parliamentary staff on Saturday 10 December 2011 joined other government and private Organizations in an “Umuganda” organised in a bid to combat soil erosion on the hilly area commonly known as “Mont Kigali” located in Kiruhura Village, Nyabugogo Cell of Kigali Sector. The Police and the Army lent hand in the activity.

A delegation from the Parliament of Uganda led by Hon. Jachan Omach, MP and Finance State Minister is in Rwanda on a study tour focused on gender equality and gender budgeting, their implementation and the role of Parliament of Rwanda in those policies.

On Tuesday, 29th November, 2011, the Chamber of Deputies adopted the Organic Law determining the Organization, Powers and Functioning Of the High Council of the Judiciary.

25-11-2011: MINICOM senior staff team’s clarifications on mismanagement of public finances and property before PAC

On Friday 25/11/2011, the Permanent Secretary, Mr. Emmanuel Hategeka, and the staff within the Ministry of Trade and Industry (MINICOM) provided the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) of the Chamber of Deputies with clarifications on the mismanagement of finances and public assets which was highlighted in the 2009/2010 report issued by the Office of Auditor General.

24-11-2011: Chamber of Deputies passed laws on Rwanda Military Hospital (RMH) and Military Medical Insurance (MMI)

On Thursday, November 11, 2011, the Chamber of Deputies has passed two laws: •Law establishing Rwanda Military Hospital (RMH) and determining its mission, structure and functioning •Law establishing Military Medical Insurance (MMI) and determining its mission, structure and functioning;

23-11-2011: Representatives from MINAGRI, RAB et NEAB give explanations to PAC

This Wednesday, 23rd November, 2011, Parliament’s member of Public Account Committee heard explanations from MINAGRI, RAB and NAEB officials on issues raised in last year’s Auditor General’s Report regarding mismanagement of the funds that were allocated to those Institutions.

22-11-2011: PAC receives representatives of ORINFOR

This Tuesday, 22nd November, 2011, officials from ORINFOR were summoned before the Public Account Committee of the Chamber of Deputies to provide explanations to the questions raised in the Auditor General report regarding their expenditures in the 2009-2010 financial year.
