Representation

 

Parliament members (Senators and Deputies) are elected by the population and entrusted with acting on behalf of the population.

The principal function of Parliament is to represent the population as its members act on behalf of the population.

As such, both Chambers of Parliament namely, the Chamber of Deputies and the Senate are always keen for the population to take part in all business of Parliament by putting their views to Members regarding draft laws or government policy or program.
