Senators commended the progress made in the reconciliation process

Today, the plenary sitting of Senate, convened in an Extraordinary Session, received reports by the National Unity and Reconciliation Commission (NURC) on an assessment of the status of reconciliation in Rwanda (Rwanda Reconciliation Barometer 2020) and another on the assessment of Ndi Umunyarwanda in the reconciliation process, and the Senators commended the progress made in the reconciliation process and also shared their views on what to be done to continue to promote the unity of the Rwandan people.

Ndayisaba Fidèle, Executive Secretary of the National Unity and Reconciliation Commission (NURC), told the Plenary Sitting that the results of the research show the positive progress achieved in the reconciliation process in Rwanda, where the rate has reached 94.7%. He added that this was due to Rwanda's strong political commitments and good governance that support Rwandan reconciliation.
