|   Chamber Of Deputies

On 26 October 2019 Deputies took part in the community work (umuganda), with one delegation led by Hon. Edda Mukabagwiza, Deputy Speaker in charge of Parliamentary Affairs joining residents of Nyaruguru District and another delegation led by Hon. Sheikh Mussa Fazil Harerimana, Deputy Speaker in charge of Finance and Administration joining Musanze residents.

In Nyaruguru District, MPs and local residents participated in different activities meant for social welfare such as construction of a house for the needy household, creation of kitchen gardens and plantation of fruit trees in effort to curb malnutrition. In Musanze District, works were dedicated to constructing two houses for the family of the late Niyibizi Jean Damascene killed by armed infiltrators who attacked Kinigi Sector in early October 2019.

At the end of activities, Hon. Mukabagwiza congratulated Cyahinda residents for their commitment and efforts in helping support the needy and planting fruit trees in a bid to end malnutrition in their households.

She called upon them to protect the gains of their social economic development, refraining from working with wrong doers but rather timely reporting criminal intents before they can do harm to public safety.

In Musanze District, Hon. Sheikh Musa Fazil Harerimana commended residents for their cooperation with security forces in tracing armed infiltrators and restoring security. He encouraged them to remain focused by conducting routine night patrol and timely providing security organs with useful information regarding possible security threats, so as to safeguard peace and stability on the entire Rwandan territory.

As part of parliamentary outreach, parliamentarians regularly carry out a range of activities including community work whereby they join the community in locally-organized activities, at the end of which they hold meetings with them centered on socio-economic agendas.
