Remembering Politicians Killed for opposing the Genocide plot is a significant action- Dr Iyamuremye

On this Tuesday, April 13, 2021, Rwanda concluded the mourning week of the 27th commemoration of the Genocide against the Tutsi, a day on which politicians, victims of the Genocide against the Tutsi are also remembered and honoured. The event was held at the Rebero Genocide Memorial in Kicukiro District, the place where these fallen politicians are buried

The President of the Senate, Dr Iyamuremye Augustin said that the commemoration of politicians who opposed the Genocide plot and were killed for that reason is an important event in the commemoration of the Genocide against the Tutsi.

In his remarks, Senate President, Dr Iyamuremye Augustin said: "Those we remember today have been brave enough to distance themselves from immoral leadership, refusing to disgrace Rwandanhood, and by so doing, being aware it would result in their execution."

The President of the Senate noted that none should try to teach Rwandans how they should remember the brave politicians who sacrificed their lives for the unity of Rwandans and others who were killed for opposing the genocidal plot or for trying to save the Tutsis.
