The Committee on Foreign Affairs, National Unity and Security is specifically responsible for monitoring the application of the fundamental principle of prevention and punishment of the crime of genocide, fighting against denial and revisionism of Genocide as well as eradication of genocide ideology and all its manifestations.

Regarding the oversight of the Executive actions, the Committee on Foreign Affairs, National Unity and Security is responsible for monitoring the following:

1. The implementation of foreign affairs and cooperation policy;
2. International agreements;
3. The functioning of Rwanda foreign missions;
4. State protocol in general;
5. National security and integrity;
6. The organisation of Security organs;
7. Rwandan nationals living abroad.
