President Denis Sassou-Nguesso addresses the Parliament of Rwanda

This 21 July 2023, President of the Republic of Congo, H.E Denis Sassou-Nguesso addressed a joint session of both Chambers of the Parliament of Rwanda, during his three-day State Visit in Rwanda, from 21 to 23 July 2023.

In his address, H.E Denis Sassou-Nguesso expressed the solidarity of his Congolese people with the people of Rwanda. He hailed the promotion and integration of women in Rwanda as a lesson coming from Africa and given in the world.

“The Parliament of Rwanda is regularly quoted and magnified by the majority women’s presence representing more than 60% of parliamentarians in your hemicycle,” stated H.E Denis Sassou-Nguesso.

“Our continent, which is committed to the integration and promotion of women in development, is working to make this gender issue a reality,” President of the Republic of Congo added.

Speaker of the Chamber of the Chamber of Deputies, Rt. Hon. Mukabalisa Donatille recognised H.E. Denis Sassou-Nguesso as a great sage of the continent, a man of peace and dialogue between nations or communities. She added "Your presence is a great testimony of the deep friendship and brotherhood that the Congolese people and the people of Rwanda enjoy."

The President of the Senate, Dr. Kalinda Francois Xavier thanked H.E. Denis Sassou-Nguesso whose message particularly resonated in a way to make people understand the challenges and opportunities facing the African Continent in seeking peace and prosperity.

During his visit, President of the Republic of Congo, H.E Denis Sassou-Nguesso was received by the President of the Republic of Rwanda, H.E Paul Kagame, and witnessed the signing of an agreement on cooperation among others.
