The Committee in charge of Assessment of the Senate's Activities, Senators' Conduct and Immunity

The Committee in charge of Assessment of the Senate's Activities, Senators' Conduct and Immunity is composed of five (5) members elected by the Plenary Assembly. The Committee is responsible for the Assessment of the Senate’s Activities, Senators’ conduct whether in or out of the Senate. In its daily activities, the Committee makes recommendations to the Plenary Assembly demonstrating the weaknesses and strengths in the functioning of the Senate by suggesting the way forward for the improvement of the service delivery in the Senate.

The Committee is mainly responsible for:

  1. assessing the activities of the Bureau of the Senate, the Conference of Chairpersons, the Committees, the Plenary Assembly and the administrative organ of the Senate;
  2. Following up the conduct of Senators both outside and inside the building of the Senate and providing advice in respect thereof;
  3. Ensuring and following up the respect of immunity for Senators;
  4. Providing advice with respect to allowances of Senators, following up recommendations thereof and their implementation.
