The President of the Senate, Kalinda Francois Xavier joined joined thousands of believers in Gahini, District of Kayonza, on 24 August 2025 to mark the celebrations of the to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Anglican Church of Rwanda.
Senate President Kalinda François Xavier conveyed a message from the President of the Republic, wishing the Anglican Church of Rwanda a happy 100th anniversary. “The celebration is a reminder of God’s grace shown through the Church’s activities in Rwanda.”
The Senate President added, "This 100th anniversary should be the start of a new chapter—growing stronger in sharing the Good News and improving the lives of Rwandans while living by the saying: 'A healthy mind in a healthy body'."
From its establishment in Gahini in 1925, the Anglican Church of Rwanda has grown into 13 dioceses nationwide, managing over 1,300 institutions. These include nursery schools, primary schools, secondary institutions, technical schools, three universities, and three hospitals, among others.
