On 27 February 2026, the Rwandan Parliamentarians’ Network against Corruption (APNAC-Rwanda) engaged youth in cooperatives across districts and the City of Kigali to strengthen their role in preventing and combating corruption.

The outreach aimed to educate young people on the nature and impact of corruption on national development and citizens’ well-being, while emphasizing Rwandan cultural values as a foundation for integrity.

APNAC-Rwanda members highlighted how corruption undermines economic growth, limits opportunities, and affects public trust. They stressed the role of youth as agents of change, promoting transparency and accountability within their cooperatives and communities.

The sessions also encouraged dialogue, allowing participants to share experiences and challenges, and emphasised the need for greater awareness of reporting mechanisms and stronger support for whistleblowers.
