The Plenary Sitting of the Chamber of Deputies adopted to establish an Ad hoc Committee tasked with gathering information and thoroughly investigating the root causes of the conflict in the region. Members of this committee will later be adopted by the Plenary Assembly.

The Plenary session took the decision after being briefed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Dr. Vincent Biruta on Rwanda’s diplomatic relations with its neighboring countries.

In his presentation, Minister Biruta said that Rwanda has good relations with its neighboring countries except Democratic Republic of Congo, due to insecurity in its eastern region. He however noted that Rwanda remains ready to participate in all initiatives aimed at finding solutions to this problem.

The Deputies commended Rwanda Government's effort to strengthen diplomatic relations in the region and vowed its support through parliamentary diplomacy.
