On this Wednesday 21st December 2022, the Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies Right Hon. Donatille Mukabalisa together with Deputy Speakers Hon. Edda Mukabagwiza and Hon. Mussa Fazil Harerimana held talks with H.E Belen Belen Calvo Uyarra, the new Head of the European Union to Rwanda.

H.E Belen Calvo Uyarra said that her visit to the Parliament of Rwanda intends to review the partnership between the European Union and the Republic of Rwanda and to engage some key priorities for this partnership to support Rwanda to become a middle-income country by 2035.

H.E Belen Calvo Uyarra also noted that European Union proudly supports the Parliament of Rwanda in its oversight activities and is committed to keeping providing its support for the transformation agenda through the role of parliament.

The Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies Right Hon. Donatille Mukabalisa hailed the European Union's support to Rwanda in different development sectors and its support to the Parliament of Rwanda in particular. Speaker Mukabalisa also acknowledged the European Union's support to Rwanda troops fighting an armed Islamic State-linked force in Mozambique.
