On October 14, 2025, Dr. Kalinda François Xavier, the President of the Senate, along with members of the Senate'sBureau, welcomed a delegation of Senators from the Labour and Social Welfare Committee of the Senate of Kenya. The discussions focused on ways to strengthen the positive relationship between the two countries, with an emphasis on parliamentary diplomacy.

The Kenyan delegation also met with their counterparts of the Social Affairs and Human Rights Committee to share experiences on the role of Parliament in implementing the country-based citizens’ welfare programmes.

Both sides commended the existing cooperation between the two Senates. They reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening parliamentary collaboration and mutual learning in advancing social protection and inclusive development.
