Senators and Deputies attended the Rwanda Leaders Fellowship's Monthly Prayer Breakfast on Sunday, September 10, 2023, themed, “Transformative Leadership: Context of Parliamentarians”.

The Parliamentarians heard the preaching by Amb. Dr. Charles Murigande, who used the story of Nehemiah in the Bible to teach about transformative leadership.

"Nehemiah's story motivates us as leaders to be in touch with the people we represent in order to fully understand their issues and give them assurance that their leaders are actually committed to helping the population find solutions to their problems," Amb. Murigande added.
Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies, Rt. Hon. Donatille Mukabalisa, reminded parliamentarians to put the interests of the people ahead of their own because they are in positions to efficiently serve the citizens.

She went on to say that while there is much to be thankful for as a country, there is still a long way to go to attain the true goal. "It takes a lot of effort to get where we want to go."

"We have the blessing of having a special leader, the President of the Republic, who is always an example of good leadership, humility, putting citizens' benefits on board, thinking big, teamwork, and self-sacrifice," she continued encouraging the leaders to follow in his footstep.
The parliamentarians had time to interact among themselves on the teaching of the day, and they made tangible commitments to move forward in their work.
