On 31 March 2026, the Chamber of Deputies requested the Prime Minister to present clear strategies and coordinated actions across institutions to address issues caused by unmanaged rainwater and to ensure its productive use while preventing damage to infrastructure and citizens’ assets.

The Chamber also tasked the Minister of Infrastructure to outline, within the same time frame, measures to improve the performance of youth groups (emerging contractors) engaged in the maintenance of feeder roads, to prevent their deterioration.

The Plenary Sitting of the Chamber of Deputies has adopted key resolutions following the approval of the report by the Committee on Economy and Trade on the audit conducted by the Office of the Auditor General of State Finances.

The report highlighted challenges related to feeder roads, the maintenance of bridges that facilitate citizens in transporting produce to markets, and poor rainwater management that continues to damage infrastructure and citizens’ property.

These resolutions follow in-depth discussions with relevant institutions after the analysis of the Auditor General’s performance audit report, as part of Parliament’s oversight role to ensure effective management of public infrastructure and resources.
