On June 05th, 2024 the joint Plenary Sitting of both Chambers, heard the presentation of Prime Minister Dr Ngirente Edouard on the Government's achievements towards the implementation of the National Strategy for Transformation 2017- 2024 (NST1).
In his presentation, Dr Ngirente, explained to Members of Parliament, that most of the planned activities in the NST1 have been achieved at the highest rate and assured them that activities which are still under implementation will be achieved in the second phase of the National Strategy for Transformation (NST2).
The Prime Minister said that of 75 NST1 planned activities, 43 have been achieved at the rate of 100%, 15 above 70% and 17 at 50%. He noted that the main cause of the lack of satisfactory success is the negative impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on the National and global economy.
Members of the Parliament hailed the Government’s efforts despite the COVID pandemic's negative effects on the economy and called for the Government to invest more efforts in increasing agriculture growth, and clean water supply and tackle climate change impact issues in the NST2.
