On March 28, 2025, Members of Parliament convened in the joint plenary session of both Chambers to hear Prime Minister Dr Ngirente Edouard's presentation on the Government's achievements and strategies for Accelerating industrial production and exports for sustainable economic growth.

In his presentation, the Prime Minister highlighted that economic growth has progressed in alignment with population growth, contributing to citizens' well-being. With the GDP per capita steadily increasing, the Government aims to achieve a target of 1,369 USD by 2029. 

He also indicated that efforts will continue to stabilise prices and curb inflation while maintaining the balance of trade & foreign exchange reserves within acceptable thresholds. Prime Minister urged collective efforts to safeguard and further strengthen the nation's economic accomplishments.

Members of the Parliament hailed the Government’s efforts towards national economic growth. Speaker Kazarwa Gertrude stated that the Parliament, by the law provisions, will continue to monitor the implementation of the strategies outlined by the Prime Minister to ensure sustainable results.
