On 18 December 2025, the Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies, Rt. Hon. Kazarwa Gertrude, and the President of the Senate, Dr. Kalinda François-Xavier, respectively received the High Commissioner of India to Rwanda, H.E. Mridu Pawan Das, in courtesy meetings.

The meetings focused on the official submission of an invitation to Rwanda’s Parliament to participate in the 28th Conference of Speakers and Presiding Officers of the Commonwealth (CSPOC), scheduled for 14–16 January 2026 in India and hosted by the Parliament of India. Discussions also highlighted strengthening bilateral cooperation between Rwanda and India, enhancing parliamentary diplomacy, and Rwanda’s participation in the upcoming CSPOC forum.

Both leaders expressed appreciation for the invitation and reaffirmed Rwanda’s commitment to continued collaboration within the Commonwealth parliamentary framework.
