On 4 September 2023, on behalf of the President of the Republic of Rwanda, President of the Senate Rt. Hon. Dr Kalinda François Xavier was in Harare to attend the inauguration ceremony of H.E. Dr Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa, President of the Republic of Zimbabwe.

The inaugural ceremony of the President of Zimbabwe took place at the National Sports Stadium in the capital, and was graced by the presence of several Presidents and Heads of State from different countries.

Rwanda and Zimbabwe enjoy bilateral cooperation which is not only witnessed in the growing visits between senior government officials but can also be observed through the strategic MoUs and Agreements signed in various sectors such as; Air transport, Finance, Education, Energy, Infrastructure, and Mining to name a few. A total of more than 20 Agreements/MoUs have been signed and are being implemented between Rwanda and Zimbabwe.
