From 8 to 18 December 2023, in partnership with the East African Legislation Assembly (EALA), the Parliament of Rwanda hosts the 13th Inter-Parliamentary Games under the theme "For a progressive, peaceful, and all-inclusive EAC." The games are taking place in Kigali City and Bugesera District.

The Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies, Rt. Hon. Donatille Mukabalisa, stated, that the Parliament of Rwanda is delighted and thankful to EAC Parliaments and EALA for having granted Rwanda the privilege of hosting the 13th Edition of the Inter-parliamentary Games and is doing whatever is in its means to ensure that these games are a resounding success.

With the participation of 700 to 800 Members of Parliament (MPs) and parliamentary staff, from EAC countries, the event aims to enhance collaboration, foster networking, and bond between the National Legislatures and EALA. Additionally, the games serve as a platform to raise awareness among citizens of the EAC about the integration process through engaging in sporting activities.

The games feature eight sporting disciplines, namely football, netball, volleyball, tug of war, basketball, golf, athletics, and darts. Notably, provisions have been made for MPs with physical disabilities to actively engage in sports, ensuring inclusivity and equal participation for all.

The Parliament of Rwanda warmly invites members of the press, stakeholders, and the public to join us in celebrating the spirit of unity, athletic excellence, and shared vision at the 13th EAC Inter-Parliamentary Games. This event promises to be a vibrant display of camaraderie, cooperation, and sportsmanship emblematic of the East African Community.
