On 27 December 2023, the Senate's Plenary Sitting approved five Ambassadors and the Executive Chairperson of the Rwanda Water Resources Board. This approval followed the assessment of their profiles by the standing committees.

The Committee on Foreign Affairs, Security, and Cooperation reviewed the profiles of six appointed ambassadors, emphasizing their extensive experience in diplomatic missions. The approved Ambassadors include:

    Mr. Bizimana Festus – Ambassador to the Republic of Senegal.

    Mr. Busabizwa Parfait – Ambassador to the Republic of Congo.

    Mr. Kayumba Rugina Olivier – Ambassador to the Central African Republic.

    Maj. Gen. Nzabamwita Joseph – Ambassador to the Russian Federation.

    Mr. Dushimimana Lambert – Ambassador to the Kingdom of the Netherlands.

Besides, the Committee on Economic Development and Finance recommended that Mr. Nyirishema Richard be approved for the role of Executive Chairperson of the Rwanda Water Resources Board.

The plenary sitting expressed satisfaction with the nominees' qualifications and expertise, stating that these appointments will strengthen Rwanda's diplomatic relations and improve the management of its water resources.

The Senate Committees commended the appointees for their readiness to assume their roles and serve Rwanda effectively, emphasizing their ability to fulfill the responsibilities ahead.
