On the invitation of Honourable Muhammad Sadiq Sanjrani, Chairman of the Senate, Kalinda François Xavier paid a visit to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan from 30 October to 3 November 2023.

During the official 4-day visit, the Senate President held talks with Dr Arif Alvi, President of Pakistan on ways of further strengthening the bilateral relations between Rwanda and Pakistan. He also paid courtesy calls to the Chairman of the Senate,  the Prime Minister and other higher-profile leaders.

President of Senate Kalinda interacted with his counterpart in Pakistan Senate Muhammad Sadiq Sanjrani on how two parliaments can work together to reinforce Parliamentary Diplomacy. 

In this regard, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed by two leaders to clearly define how the Parliament of Rwanda and the Parliament of Pakistan will collaborate to meet the expected results.
