Rt. Hon. Kazarwa Gertrude, Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies of Rwanda, concluded a successful visit to Mozambique, marked by high-level meetings, cultural engagements, and outreach to the Rwandan community.
She held official talks with H.E. Margarida Adamugi Talapa, President of the Assembly of Mozambique, emphasizing the strong friendship between the two nations and their collaboration on security challenges in Cabo Delgado. Both sides also discussed the continued implementation of the 2022 MoU and advancing parliamentary cooperation.
In her address to Mozambique’s Plenary Assembly, stated that cooperation is marked “as a testament to what African nations can achieve when they trust and support each other.”
"We firmly believe that deepening economic cooperation, between our countries and across the continent, will accelerate shared development. The African Continental Free Trade Area offers us a unique opportunity to unlock intra-African trade and build resilient value chains," she expressed.
Speaker Kazarwa visited the National Museum of Geology, planted an Acacia tree at Independência Square as a symbol of friendship, toured Maputo Central Market, and met Her Excellency Paulina Chiziane, Mozambique’s celebrated writer. She also engaged with the Rwandan diaspora, highlighting their role in promoting Rwanda’s economic growth and global image.
The visit concluded with a tribute at the Mozambican Heroes Memorial, where she laid flowers in honor of the nation’s fallen heroes.
This visit reinforced Rwanda–Mozambique relations and showcased Rwanda’s commitment to partnership, cultural exchange, and citizen-centered governance.
