On 29 November 2025, Speaker Kazarwa Gertrude praised Rulindo District residents for participating in the monthly Umuganda community service at the Kajevuba planned settlement, where they built drainage channels. She also thanked them for warmly welcoming Members of Parliament, who had been visiting communities across the country since 24 November 2025.
She urged citizens to maintain high standards of hygiene, actively participate in government programmes, and uphold the national master plan in their housing and settlement practices.
The one-week outreach programme, which concluded on the same day, enabled MPs to assess progress in urban development, housing conditions, and land-use management, while also joining residents in the end-of-month Umuganda across all districts in the province.
During the outreach, MPs underscored the importance of environmental conservation and called for enhanced awareness campaigns in rural areas to promote responsible land use that aligns with environmental protection requirements. They also hailed local authorities for mobilising residents to settle in designated sites, noting that this policy continues to deliver tangible results.
Despite the ongoing progress observed, MPs highlighted the need for increased efforts to expand essential infrastructure, such as clean water, roads, and electricity, to certain settlement sites that remain underserved.
Following outreach in the Provinces, MPs are scheduled to continue their outreach in the City of Kigali's districts from 5 to 6 December 2025.
