Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies Mukabalisa Donatille and her delegation joined over 500 delegates from commonwealth countries in Accra, Ghana to participate in the 66th Commonwealth Parliamentary Conference and related meetings from 30 September to 6 October 2023.

Sessions and Debates of the 66th CPC were under the theme: 'The Commonwealth Charter 10 years on Values and Principles for Parliaments to Uphold'. The conference of 2023 marks the 10th anniversary of the Commonwealth Charter which outlines the principles and values of the Commonwealth.

On the sidelines of the 66th Commonwealth Parliamentary Conference, Speaker Mukabalisa held a bilateral meeting with the Speaker of the Parliament of Ghana, Alban Bagbin. They commended what has already been achieved in the implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding signed last year when the Speaker visited Rwanda.

Speaker Mukabalisa also met with her counterpart of the Parliament of Tanzania Tulia Ackson, who is running for the IPU Presidential Candidacy. They among others hailed the excellent relations existing between the two Parliaments and shared updates on how the campaign is going.

Speaker Mukabalisa concluded her visit by meeting with the Rwandan community in Ghana. Their Interactions were on the functioning of the Parliament and the roles of Rwandans living abroad in the growth of the country. Speaker Mukabalisa calls on Rwandans living in Ghana to actively contribute to the development of Rwanda.
