From 3 to 6 January 2024, Speaker Mukabalisa Donatille attended the 27th Conference of Speakers and Presiding Officers of the Commonwealth (CSPOC) which took place in Kampala,Uganda, a biennial conference which brings together Speakers and Presiding Officers of the National Parliaments of the independent sovereign states of the Commonwealth.

In her speech, Right Honourable Mukabalisa Donatille pointed out Rwanda’s efforts to address climate change and the role of the Parliament, as the environment and climate change were among the main topics of this year’s CSPOC.

“The National Environment and Climate Change Policy reaffirms the country’s commitment toaddress climate change and its resolve to lessen the potential hardships that climate change may pose to the sustainable development of Rwanda. The Parliament of Rwanda is committed to playing its role, joining our partners’ efforts in combatting, and mitigating the impact of climate change.” said Rt. Hon. Mukabalisa Donatille.
