At the invitation of the President of the National Assembly of Slovenia, the Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies, Rt. Hon. Donatille Mukabalisa visited Slovenia from May 21st to 23rd, 2024.
Speaker Mukabalisa paid a courtesy visit to the President of Slovenia, Nataša Pirc Musar during which they talked about the bilateral relations between the two countries as well as other topics of mutual interests.
Speaker Mukabalisa met with her counterpart, Hon. Urška Klakočar Zupančič, the President of the National Assembly of Slovenia. During their discussions, both leaders agreed that these visits would lead to more high-level meetings and stronger relations between their Parliaments.
She also had the opportunity to meet members of the parliamentary Friendship Group with sub-Saharan African countries, which has 19 members.
Additionally, Speaker Mukabalisa interacted with Tanja Fajon, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and European Affairs. They discussed further cooperation in various areas, such as education, agriculture, and waste management.
On Wednesday, May 22nd, 2024, Speaker Mukabalisa hosted a leaders' panel as part of the international Africa Day conference. The topic of this year's conference is the green transition.
Speaker Mukabalisa Donatille contributed to the Africa Day Leaders' Panel on the theme “Green Transition Partnership as a Driver of Development, Security, and Peace, Strengthening Europe-Africa Partnership and highlighted Rwanda’s initiatives on green transition and challenges.
