On  14 January 2025, the Ambassador of Algeria to Rwanda H.E. Mohamed Mellah paid a courtesy call on the Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies Rt Hon. Kazarwa Gertrude and Deputy Speakers Uwineza Beline and Musa Fazil Harerimana.

The Speaker commended the existing relations of friendship and cooperation between Rwanda and Algeria and expressed Rwanda’s readiness to continue working with Algeria and strengthen cooperation across a range of sectors.

"The conversation we had with the Ambassador of Algeria focused on the existing agreements between Algeria and Rwanda in various areas, including education, social matters, and the economy. We also discussed bilateral cooperation and the parliamentary relations between the two countries. We anticipate continued collaboration between different institutions on both sides," said Rt Hon Kazarwa.

"I spoke with the Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies about parliamentary relations. We established a parliamentary group and, through this group, collaborated to align our ideas on various areas of mutual interest, including international, bilateral, and regional topics. Additionally, we discussed the political, economic, and security relations between Algeria and Rwanda," stated H.E. Mohamed Mellah.
