On 28 April 2025, the Plenary Sitting of the Chamber of Deputies passed resolutions aimed at addressing critical issues highlighted in the Rwanda Governance Board’s (RGB) findings, including challenges in the media sector, healthcare services for patients and caregivers, and collaboration between local governments and development partners (JADF).

Following the presentation of the report by the Committee on Governance Affairs and Gender, analysing the 2023/24 activity report and the 2024/25 action plan of RGB, Parliament adopted the following key resolutions:

  • Office of the Prime Minister: Expedite the revision of the national media policy to reflect current needs, within six months.

  • Ministry of Health: Improve the quality and speed of services provided to patients and caregivers, which will be implemented within three months.

  • Ministry of Local Government: Provide to the Chamber of Deputies strategies to enhance cooperation between districts and development partners (JADF), ensuring inclusive planning and approval of performance contracts (Imihigo).

These resolutions demonstrate Parliament’s continued commitment to strengthening governance and enhancing service delivery for the benefit of all citizens.
