The Senate President, Dr. Kalinda François Xavier, and the Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies held strategic meetings with Rwanda’s Members of Parliament in the East African Legislative Assembly (EALA). 

Their discussions focused on assessing the progress made in strengthening regional integration, advancing parliamentary diplomacy, and exploring ways of collaboration between MPs representing EALA and the Parliament of Rwanda for Rwanda’s benefit.

The meetings reflected on 25 years of the EAC’s integration efforts and significant milestones achieved. They also shared insights on the challenges and opportunities within the integration framework, particularly emphasizing Rwanda’s role and contributions.

Besides, particular emphasis was placed on combating genocide ideology and promoting peacebuilding efforts across the region eastern African region.
