On August 7, 2023, the Plenary session of the Senate approved the appointment of CG Dan Munyuza as the Ambassador of Rwanda to the Arab Republic of Egypt, Michel Sebera as the Ambassador of Rwanda to the Republic of Guinea, and Shakilla Umutoni Kazimbaya as the Ambassador of Rwanda to the Kingdom of Morocco.
The Committee on Foreign Affairs, Cooperation, and Security conducted interviews with these individuals and determined that their competence and experience will enable them to effectively fulfill their duties.
CG Dan Munyuza told the Committee that he will focus on strengthening the existing relationship between Rwanda and the Arab Republic of Egypt in various sectors such as technology, agriculture and animal husbandry, transport, education, health, and security.
Michel Sebera highlighted the importance of utilising bilateral agreements between Rwanda and the Republic of Guinea to promote investment in mining and technology. He also emphasized the significance of involving the Rwandan diaspora in Guinea in the development efforts of Rwanda.
Shakilla Umutoni Kazimbaya said she will focus on exploiting the bilateral agreements between Rwanda and the Kingdom of Morocco, she will also strengthen cooperation between both parliaments and explore opportunities for collaboration in various sectors.
As provided for by Article 171 of the organic law N°007/2018.OL of 08/09/2018 determining the functioning of the Senate, the Senate has the responsibility to approve the appointment of officials.
