The Senatorial Committee on Political Affairs and Governance has organised an oversight activity to assess how the principle of gender equality contributes to the development of the family. The activity takes place from 22 September to 1 October 2025.

The main objective is to assess efforts made in promoting gender equality and collaboration between men and women, and to identify strategies that can enhance their understanding and effective implementation, fostering resilient and secure families.

As part of the activity, Senators will visit two districts in each Province and one district in the City of Kigali, reaching at least one sector per district. They will hold discussions with leaders at different levels, interact with citizens and at least two families in each district, and visit projects that showcase initiatives promoting gender equality.

As part of this activity, after completing field visits across various districts and interacting with citizens, the Senate Committee on Political Affairs and Governance will hold discussions with relevant institutions that have gender equality promotion at the national level. The report will be tabled before the Plenary Assembly of the Senate.
