The Parliament of Rwanda and the US Embassy to Rwanda commended the bilateral relations between the United States of America and Rwanda and committed to strengthening the collaboration between the Parliaments of the two countries in both chambers.
The commitments to enforcing Parliamentary Diplomacy stem from the courtesy meetings between the US Ambassador to Rwanda Eric Kneedler and Kalinda François Xavier, the President of the Senate, and Mukabalisa Donatille, the Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies on 18 and 25 January 2024, respectively.
Rwanda and the United States have a long-term relationship formalized in 1962. Both countries maintain regular political dialogues and active development cooperation, especially in the areas of public health, defence and security, climate change, trade and investments, and many others, through a variety of programs.
