Senate President Rt. Hon. Kalinda Francois Xavier and Vice Presidents of the Senate Hon. Nyirasafari Espérance and Hon. Mukabaramba Alvera met with Vice President of Cuba, H.E Salvador Antonio Valdes Mesa, who is in Rwanda for an official visit. 

During the discussion, they interacted on ways of strengthening cooperation in education, health, transport, and Parliamentary Diplomacy among others.

Cuban Vice President Salvador Valdes M stated that he brought the message from the Cuban Parliament President, Rt. Hon. Esteban Lazo Hernández, and of the people of Cuba, cementing the relationship between both Parliaments.

"We have ratified the Constitution of Cuba, and the Cuban Parliament as well, to continue developing the solidarity and the cooperation for the Rwandan people." Cuban Vice President Salvador Valdes M noted.

"We saluted the good relations between Rwanda and Cuba dating 44 years back, and he shared with us his commitment to further enhance the bilateral relations beyond the existing fields of cooperation including education and health." Senate President Kalinda said.
